Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund

On December 26, 2004, a massive earthquake occurred under the Indian Ocean just off the coast of Indonesia causing a tsunami.

Close to six months after the horrifying tsunami struck the Indian coast, the Prime Minister presented a comprehensive report on the plan for rehabilitation that included contributions from a large number of MNCs and individuals.

The Prime Ministers’ National Relief Fund (PMNRF) is now utilised to render immediate relief to the families of those who lost their lives in natural calamities.
