The N Sethia Foundation has been actively involved in several projects that promote the next generation of creative genius.
Not only has the Foundation contributed generously to The Roundhouse, North London’s engine room of inspired invention, Mr Nirmal Sethia was on the main advisory board of this prestigious institution.
The transformation of Roundhouse from Victorian beginnings to that of a legendary cultural venue has been an amazing journey. The Centre 42, established by renowned playwright Arnold Wesker in 1964, has hosted The Doors’ only UK appearance in 1968 among other seminal shows.
In 2006, this North London landmark reopened after a complete renovation. Architect John McAslan and his team meticulously restored several original features and introduced modern facilities to create the perfect platform for a wide range of performing arts.
More than half-a-million people have attended the events held at the Roundhouse. Its glittering musical heritage boasts several iconic performances from Kasabian, Jarvis Cocker, Paul McCartney, The Chemical Brothers, The Beastie Boys, The Who, Morrissey and James Brown.
Despite the international buzz associated with The Roundhouse, the focus of the institution is on promoting youth development programmes. As this philosophy resonates with Mr Nirmal Sethia’s beliefs, the N Sethia Foundation has contributed to this worthy cause gladly and generously.
